Perfect C-parts logistics

WE support you
with individual process design

Reap benefits from KPOs C-parts logistics – Reduce the load as regards C-parts. Once properly installed, there are many advantages offered that must be used. Your fist advantage – you don’t have to adapt to us, rather we adapt to you. In KPO there are four different system versions, out of which you can select one.

What are the options?

KPOlog A

Requirement of C-parts is determined by customer and communicated (via fax, e-mail, remote data transmission) to KPO. Goods are delivered in standard packing units to the goods receiving area.

KPOlog B

Requirement of C-parts is determined by customer and communicated (via fax, e-mail, remote data transmission) to KPO. Goods are delivered in standard packing units; however, the Kanban shelf is filled by KPO logistics staff.

KPOlog C

Requirement of C-parts is signalised by empty Kanban containers placed in the goods receiving area by the customer. Goods are delivered in full Kanban containers to the goods receiving area.

KPOlog D

Requirement of C-parts is signalised by empty Kanban containers placed at a collection point for empty containers beside the Kanban shelf. Goods are delivered in full Kanban containers; however, the Kanban shelf is filled by KPO logistics staff.

4 Steps to perfect logistics

KPO offers tailored solutions. This is because the individual requirements of our industrial customers on a C-part system vary greatly depending on the company, the production site and the branch of industry. After all, only an optimal C-part concept will allow the customer to exploit his savings potential and increase flexibility. Between being willing to use single sourcing and the implementation of KPO Logistics there are numerous conceptual and organisational issues that have to be clarified.

We divide this process into four steps:

The customer’s entire procurement volume is defined by specifying the relevant C-parts. This is the basis on which we then draw up our offer. Thanks to our know-how and experience, we can provide you with help and advice if your range of products needs to be adjusted. Cost-intensive special solutions are frequently in use which can be replaced by less expensive standard solutions without any difficulty. Ascertaining the annual consumption of the specific parts can be used as the basis for deciding whether all the C-parts are to be subject to a regular delivery rhythm or whether parts that are less common are to be dealt with as residual parts. This division enables you to save additional storage space since the residual parts are only requested by you if they are needed.

The analysis of the actual situation is the basis on which we draw up the C-part concept. We are especially interested in your operational sequences. Key factors are the location the C-parts are needed and the quantities required. When defining the target status, we focus on the issues of needs assessment, the type of delivery and the place of receipt as well as on the storage and retrieval system (see also C-parts logistics system variants). Would you prefer the consumption figures to be established manually or by means of barcode? What work do you want (or not want) to outsource? These and other questions are what we concentrate on at this stage.

Delivery quantities and delivery intervals must be coordinated so well to each other that no bottlenecks in supply can occur between order placement and the next delivery. Should the warehouse management be carried out by your own employees or by our KPO logistics staff? To ensure a continuously high quality and reduce the workload for you, we propose entering into a quality assurance agreement. After all, the accounting procedure is determined under consideration of the administrative effort..

C-part management starts once the conceptual and organisational preliminary work has been finished by initially stocking the C-part shelf. In our understanding, regular system reviews are an essential element of strategic customer-supplier partnership. We are always open for your improvement suggestions. It is our responsibility to pick up general trends in the field of C-part management and to utilise them for your company.
