Thread locks

We offer different approaches for thread locks. Depending on the requirement, you should decide between the following protection forms. We will be delighted to advise you on your decisions!

Adhesive Fasteners

In case of adhesive fasteners, microcapsules are fixed on the thread of the screw. The screws can be with or without head. When screwing in the counter thread, the microcapsules are destroyed. Glue and hardener then mix up. Due to the chemical reaction, the adhesive hardens on the thread and ensures protection and sealing. Hardening takes 24 hours to complete. But this process can be accelerated by increasing the temperature. This form of thread locking can be generally used only once.

Clamping Fasteners

A clamping screw locking can be done using spot or all-over coating. In this process, the lock is placed on the thread (or a part of it) and this creates a clamping effect when screwing in. By means of the coating, the margin between the screw and the counter thread is reduced and by means of the resulting pressure on the thread automatic loosening is avoided. This form of thread locking is hence ideal for dynamic load and is also cost-efficient. Other advantages of this thread locking are reusability of parts, no health incompatibilities, no hardening time and almost unlimited shelf life.

Thread seal

The thread seal is achieved by means of a coating that fills up the entire thread clearance and hence directly solidifies after the assembly. The coating is a film-forming dispersion that is not toxic and does not present any health risk. Coating of the thread can take place beforehand so that the pre-coating is not forgotten. The application is possible in cylindrical – conical or cylindrical – cylindrical thread parts. It seals off liquids such as petrol or diesel as well as gases.

Lower-head seal

The favourable alternative for expensive O-rings. This form of sealing is directly fused on the surface of the metal parts and under the head. The parts can be reused depending on the load.
